I should have ordered the pizza based on others' helpful reviews; however, I had a sausage sandwich. It was ok and deserving of three stars here. The service was not good and the waitress was rude. I doubt I'll ever go back unless I really want Chicago style pizza and I get it to go.

I like this pizza joint. It is small and not terribly busy whenever I've been in there but the food is good. Hubby and I love the trivia at the tables! It is tucked away so I don't think it gets much walk-in traffic from people who don't already know that it is there which is a shame. After a long hiatus after discovering Red Savoy's, we returned to Aurelio's last night. I must stand behind my original recommendation -- pizza is good; don't order anything else. Last night, I made the mistake of ordering an Italian beef sandwich, which pretty much in no way resembled a real Chicago Italian beef. It came out on a barely toasted, bland, doughy roll and really looked more like a couple of sheets of Steak-ums than actual beef. It was also bone dry (ie, not dipped, for those of you who are familiar with this type of sandwich) and I wasn't even asked if I wanted peppers. So a couple of slices of beef between two really dry roll halves. Yum. Oh, and when I asked about whether there was any option besides chips to go with my sandwich, our waitress had to first check with the kitchen and then came back with a resounding "No." Not even an "for $2 extra you can have onion rings" type of option. Apparently there are no fries to be found in this joint. Fortunately, my hubby got a pizza, so I ate some of that. And it was still excellent. But from now on I will stick with what I know and take my own advice. Only pizza and drinks at Aurelio's. Skip the rest.

Aurelio's is true Chicago style pizza. I am from Chicago and most of the pizza I have eaten in my life is thin crust. The thick/stuffed is also Chicago style but is not the everyday norm ordered for meals for true Chicagoans. The thick/stuffed pizza is more of a special occasion/I have a craving kind of pizza. Aurelio's has great sauce and very good sausage. One thing I always do at this location is to order extra sauce as they tend to hardly put any on it. Coupons are the way to go though as it can get expensive. As far as the gift cards not being accepted, that stinks. If you go on Aurelio's main website this location is listed. They use the same franchise ingredients that the Chicago stores use so I find the explanation of the no communication since the '80's quite odd.

This is my favorite neighborhood pizza place! Their pizza is delicious; the sauce is sweet and the dough is made fresh from scratch. Order a stuffed pizza if you're extra hungry or I recommend a spinach calabrese with extra veggies if you're into that sort of thing. The sausage is mixed by hand and there is no fryer on site; this place knows how to make quality, fresh food.

Two for One! 3 instead of 2 because it was pretty good, but not my personal favorite. A friend of mine is from Chicago and loves this pizza. We all gathered here on a recent night to check it out. We ordered appetizers of onion rings and cheese bread - nothing great. I had a small half cheese and half sausage. It was good size - 2 meals plus as far as I was concerned. A mini pizza would have been enough, but I love left over pizza. What I enjoyed is pop in the can! I love Diet 7 Up in a can. I had a coupon and I'm glad I used it. I wouldn't pay full price. A small was $11, but I didn't love it. I guess I prefer thin crust regular non buttery crust pizza. If I'm eating Chicago Style it's going to be Gino's East. Give it a try, but the expect it to take a while - not because it's busy, but because the service was very slow. Oh, good thing we had cash - they didn't know how to replace the paper in the credit card machine so we had to use cash.

Not gunna lie - the strip mall that Aurelio's is in seems to be a bit sketch. But it's not in bad area . . . so I think it just looks sketch rather than really being such. Ha, that being said . . . The pizza here is awesome. It's a little on the greasy side, but delicious. It doesn't matter what kind of pizza you get, it's good. The couple times I've actually gone in, the staff have been great. Very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is casual/cozy. It really reminds me of a little town pizza joint like the ones around where I grew up. The people act like they know you and are actually nice, rather than just wanting a tip. And the quality of food is that of a good home-cooked pizza with that litle extra kick. Definitely check it out . . . I always forget about it because it is sort of hidden back in that mall on Hamile . . .

We got a gift card for this place from my parents, who live near Chicago. I never had been to an Aurelio's, but I really miss Chicago-style pizza so we were excited to give it a try. Our experience was quite mixed. The food was very good. Started with cheese bread and ordered a stuffed pizza. The sauce was very flavorful, the crust buttery and ingredients fresh. Unfortunately, the service and experience stunk. We arrived before 8:00, plenty of time before 9:00 closing (they stop seating at 8:30). Unfortunately our waitress became quite crabby and made it obvious it was time to leave. Vacuums went on and lights started going off. The kicker was that techno music started blaring from the kitchen, almost (but not quite) drowning out the cheesy dining room music courtesy of Love105. The icing on the cake was....they don't accept Aurelio's gift cards!!!! That's right...apparently their communication with the Aurelio's system ended in 1980. Being that we live in the western suburbs we probably won't be back. If we lived nearby we might do carryout for the delicious pizza. But well before 8:00. And with an approved form of payment.

We went here one night when we were in Roseville-it's in an old old strip mall, sort of near the Roseville library, we almost couldn't find it. We had a Happenings coupon-so we thought we'd give it a shot. It was pretty good. I'm still on my Holy Grail quest for good pizza since they closed my Bicko's Pizza down in Edina. Anyway, if you have veggie lovers-this is the place. We had a coupon for a two for one pizza, and we ordered two smalls, but hey gave us two mediums. We had an appetizer of tomato bread, which is like cheesy bread with tomatoes on top. It looked better than it tasted. We had one pizza with spinach, onions, and tomato, and the other was a combo. It was good-lots and lots of fresh spinach-the veggies were fantastic. I'm not a huge fan of thin crust pizza, so if you are, this is the place. It was also kind of cute-25 cent TV's at each booth, and Trivial Pursuit. I don't think we'll go again until we have another coupon, but it was pretty good. Apparently there is this Spinach Pie thing that is their specialty, but we didn't get it.

Jennifer K is right. Their spinach pie pizza (kind of like a big calzone) called the calbrese is their specialty. It's great and it's actually semi-healthy. We get take out from Aurelio's once a month because we live nearby. Pretty much everyone who we've served the Calbrese to said it was good. I like it so much I've never tried their regular pizza offerings.

I am sorry to say the cheese has been changed. We were told the home office in Chicago wanted restaurant to be more consistent and mandated cheese provided by Aurielo's be used. Now one hour later my stomach is retching. Anti acids are not working! We will not return. I am saddened.

It's between C and C2 on Hamline. If it wasn't for here, it would be deserted. Very strange, but it's better than more houses.

It was okay. Was a little disappointed cause I went in expecting the same za I was used to getting at the Aurelio's back home in Chicago. Pizza was good but ordered giardinara ... which was on the menu ... but what we got were mild pepperochini peppers. I looked back at the menu and under giardinara they had mild pepperochinis or "extra hot giardinara" listed. Must be a Minnesota thing cause back home pepperochinis were pepperochinis and you either got mild or hot giardinara. Waitress was nice but service was kinda slow considering the place was essentially empty (scary sign for Friday at 6:30/7:00pm). When she was explaining in why they only had Miller Light (no wine, no liquor and no other beer options) she mentioned they were getting a new owner and the will have more options when they take over. We made the 15 mile trek to Roseville from SW Minneapolis for what we thought would be a taste of home ... eh. Again, pizza was pretty good but overall experience was a little disappointing. Probably not fair to them considering I'm used to some of their flagship stores back home. Probably worth checking out if you live closely but we probably won't make the drive back. :-(

If your new here, its hard to say if you'll like the pizza or not, we are just comparing it to the greatness it used to be.

As far as I know this is the only location in MN. Came in on a Thursday night. Ordered a house IPA beer and a thin crust pepperoni, which were both good. Pizza came out fresh and piping hot. Decor was pleasant, waitress was friendly, restaurant had a nice cozy vibe. Everything was solid. The only odd thing was that there was only one other table seated when we walked in. By the time we left we were the only people in the dining area. Not sure why the place is so empty, because the pizza is good. Maybe because it's located in the back of a nondescript strip mall in an off the beaten path location? Either way, I would go back again. PS: the leftover pizza in my fridge is just as good, if not better than it was when it was hot. Which is a always a sign of good pizza.

After a long hiatus after discovering Red Savoy's, we returned to Aurelio's last night. I must stand behind my original recommendation -- pizza is good; don't order anything else. Last night, I made the mistake of ordering an Italian beef sandwich, which pretty much in no way resembled a real Chicago Italian beef. It came out on a barely toasted, bland, doughy roll and really looked more like a couple of sheets of Steak-ums than actual beef. It was also bone dry (ie, not dipped, for those of you who are familiar with this type of sandwich) and I wasn't even asked if I wanted peppers. So a couple of slices of beef between two really dry roll halves. Yum. Oh, and when I asked about whether there was any option besides chips to go with my sandwich, our waitress had to first check with the kitchen and then came back with a resounding "No." Not even an "for $2 extra you can have onion rings" type of option. Apparently there are no fries to be found in this joint. Fortunately, my hubby got a pizza, so I ate some of that. And it was still excellent. But from now on I will stick with what I know and take my own advice. Only pizza and drinks at Aurelio's. Skip the rest.

Their pizza is fantastic, being from Chicago I've missed quality pizza up here in MN. That being said, stay away from the lasagna, garbage. But have no fears that your pizza will be delicious, it will be.

Aurelio's has theeeee BEST pizza, hands down. Small place, quite and nice service. I am a foodie and have had lots of great pizza all over the world. There is something though about Aurelio's that is unbeatable!

Great pizza. Cozy restaurant , lots of good parking. It's tucked in a strip mall area but don't judge by the looks of it . Aside from their pizza they have a pretty decent menu, the price is a little on the high side .

Aurelio's is true Chicago style pizza. I am from Chicago and most of the pizza I have eaten in my life is thin crust. The thick/stuffed is also Chicago style but is not the everyday norm ordered for meals for true Chicagoans. The thick/stuffed pizza is more of a special occasion/I have a craving kind of pizza. Aurelio's has great sauce and very good sausage. One thing I always do at this location is to order extra sauce as they tend to hardly put any on it. Coupons are the way to go though as it can get expensive. As far as the gift cards not being accepted, that stinks. If you go on Aurelio's main website this location is listed. They use the same franchise ingredients that the Chicago stores use so I find the explanation of the no communication since the '80's quite odd.

This is my favorite neighborhood pizza place! Their pizza is delicious; the sauce is sweet and the dough is made fresh from scratch. Order a stuffed pizza if you're extra hungry or I recommend a spinach calabrese with extra veggies if you're into that sort of thing. The sausage is mixed by hand and there is no fryer on site; this place knows how to make quality, fresh food.

Two for One! 3 instead of 2 because it was pretty good, but not my personal favorite. A friend of mine is from Chicago and loves this pizza. We all gathered here on a recent night to check it out. We ordered appetizers of onion rings and cheese bread - nothing great. I had a small half cheese and half sausage. It was good size - 2 meals plus as far as I was concerned. A mini pizza would have been enough, but I love left over pizza. What I enjoyed is pop in the can! I love Diet 7 Up in a can. I had a coupon and I'm glad I used it. I wouldn't pay full price. A small was $11, but I didn't love it. I guess I prefer thin crust regular non buttery crust pizza. If I'm eating Chicago Style it's going to be Gino's East. Give it a try, but the expect it to take a while - not because it's busy, but because the service was very slow. Oh, good thing we had cash - they didn't know how to replace the paper in the credit card machine so we had to use cash.

Not gunna lie - the strip mall that Aurelio's is in seems to be a bit sketch. But it's not in bad area . . . so I think it just looks sketch rather than really being such. Ha, that being said . . . The pizza here is awesome. It's a little on the greasy side, but delicious. It doesn't matter what kind of pizza you get, it's good. The couple times I've actually gone in, the staff have been great. Very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is casual/cozy. It really reminds me of a little town pizza joint like the ones around where I grew up. The people act like they know you and are actually nice, rather than just wanting a tip. And the quality of food is that of a good home-cooked pizza with that litle extra kick. Definitely check it out . . . I always forget about it because it is sort of hidden back in that mall on Hamile . . .

We got a gift card for this place from my parents, who live near Chicago. I never had been to an Aurelio's, but I really miss Chicago-style pizza so we were excited to give it a try. Our experience was quite mixed. The food was very good. Started with cheese bread and ordered a stuffed pizza. The sauce was very flavorful, the crust buttery and ingredients fresh. Unfortunately, the service and experience stunk. We arrived before 8:00, plenty of time before 9:00 closing (they stop seating at 8:30). Unfortunately our waitress became quite crabby and made it obvious it was time to leave. Vacuums went on and lights started going off. The kicker was that techno music started blaring from the kitchen, almost (but not quite) drowning out the cheesy dining room music courtesy of Love105. The icing on the cake was....they don't accept Aurelio's gift cards!!!! That's right...apparently their communication with the Aurelio's system ended in 1980. Being that we live in the western suburbs we probably won't be back. If we lived nearby we might do carryout for the delicious pizza. But well before 8:00. And with an approved form of payment.

This is really the best pizza I have ever had in Minnesota and I have eaten at all of the great pizza places around. It may cost a few extra dollars then other places, but you will not be disappointed.

We went here one night when we were in Roseville-it's in an old old strip mall, sort of near the Roseville library, we almost couldn't find it. We had a Happenings coupon-so we thought we'd give it a shot. It was pretty good. I'm still on my Holy Grail quest for good pizza since they closed my Bicko's Pizza down in Edina. Anyway, if you have veggie lovers-this is the place. We had a coupon for a two for one pizza, and we ordered two smalls, but hey gave us two mediums. We had an appetizer of tomato bread, which is like cheesy bread with tomatoes on top. It looked better than it tasted. We had one pizza with spinach, onions, and tomato, and the other was a combo. It was good-lots and lots of fresh spinach-the veggies were fantastic. I'm not a huge fan of thin crust pizza, so if you are, this is the place. It was also kind of cute-25 cent TV's at each booth, and Trivial Pursuit. I don't think we'll go again until we have another coupon, but it was pretty good. Apparently there is this Spinach Pie thing that is their specialty, but we didn't get it.

Jennifer K is right. Their spinach pie pizza (kind of like a big calzone) called the calbrese is their specialty. It's great and it's actually semi-healthy. We get take out from Aurelio's once a month because we live nearby. Pretty much everyone who we've served the Calbrese to said it was good. I like it so much I've never tried their regular pizza offerings.

We have been going to Aurielo's for nearly 20 years. We loved, loved the pizza - PAST tense! We ordered our usual looking forward to a delicious crust and wonderful cheese. I am sorry to say the cheese has been changed. We were told the home office in Chicago wanted restaurant to be more consistent and mandated cheese provided by Aurielo's be used. Now one hour later my stomach is retching. Anti acids are not working! We will not return. I am saddened.

If I lived in Roseville this would be my go to pizza place. If you have a coupon or happen to be out this way and want pizza or Italian give it a try. I recall a cozy setting. It's between C and C2 on Hamline. If it wasn't for here, it would be deserted. Very strange, but it's better than more houses.

It was okay. Was a little disappointed cause I went in expecting the same za I was used to getting at the Aurelio's back home in Chicago. Pizza was good but ordered giardinara ... which was on the menu ... but what we got were mild pepperochini peppers. I looked back at the menu and under giardinara they had mild pepperochinis or "extra hot giardinara" listed. Must be a Minnesota thing cause back home pepperochinis were pepperochinis and you either got mild or hot giardinara. Waitress was nice but service was kinda slow considering the place was essentially empty (scary sign for Friday at 6:30/7:00pm). When she was explaining in why they only had Miller Light (no wine, no liquor and no other beer options) she mentioned they were getting a new owner and the will have more options when they take over. We made the 15 mile trek to Roseville from SW Minneapolis for what we thought would be a taste of home ... eh. Again, pizza was pretty good but overall experience was a little disappointing. Probably not fair to them considering I'm used to some of their flagship stores back home. Probably worth checking out if you live closely but we probably won't make the drive back. :-(

Last time we went, she sat down the pizza on the table & we were all speechless, it was not the same pizza at all that we were used to. Cheese & crust were different. Waitress said they changed the cheese & added oregano. Really disappointed, we won't be back. I emailed Aurelio's questioning the change, told them our story & sadly never heard back from them. If your new here, its hard to say if you'll like the pizza or not, we are just comparing it to the greatness it used to be.

I used to go to Aurelio's when I lived in the Chicago area, because it was a popular place with good pizza. I had no idea they had any locations here, which was a pleasant surprise. As far as I know this is the only location in MN. Came in on a Thursday night. Ordered a house IPA beer and a thin crust pepperoni, which were both good. Pizza came out fresh and piping hot. Decor was pleasant, waitress was friendly, restaurant had a nice cozy vibe. Everything was solid. The only odd thing was that there was only one other table seated when we walked in. By the time we left we were the only people in the dining area. Not sure why the place is so empty, because the pizza is good. Maybe because it's located in the back of a nondescript strip mall in an off the beaten path location? Either way, I would go back again. PS: the leftover pizza in my fridge is just as good, if not better than it was when it was hot. Which is a always a sign of good pizza.

I like this pizza joint. It is small and not terribly busy whenever I've been in there but the food is good. Hubby and I love the trivia at the tables! It is tucked away so I don't think it gets much walk-in traffic from people who don't already know that it is there which is a shame. The Spinach Calabrese is really filling! If you order it, you don't need to order much else! They have good lunch deals. Never had a problem with service or waiting during the lunch hour midweek.

I should have ordered the pizza based on others' helpful reviews; however, I had a sausage sandwich. It was ok and deserving of three stars here. The service was not good and the waitress was rude. I doubt I'll ever go back unless I really want Chicago style pizza and I get it to go.

Good pizza. For takeout. We ate there a few weeks ago and had to listen to the waitress and cook complain about their job and co-workers. Not the most pleasant dining experience, but the pizza itself is really good and gives me a taste of home. I grew up a few blocks from an Aurelio's in Chicago.
